Well I am trying to keep up with things and be more mobile... trying to use MacJournal for the iPhone to keep on top of my blogging duties. So here I go life at Avaya is very different I am adjusting too it. We are planning a springbreak roadtrip to southern California next week woohoo.
We had a great visit we our family in so cal Ashley Rayanna and Glenn Jr. We love you and had a wonderful visit.

I forgot I had this nifty little app Mac Journal! It lets me be free to blog right from my Mac Book Pro! Now I have it updating my blog on my website to boot.. Love it.

New Rapid Weaver release! New Plugin's too!

Well Real Mac have released a new update (release) to my favorite web design tool Rapid Weaver! all I can say is WOW, man it is faster to upload sites, fast exports, lots of little bug fixes!

New Plugins for Rapid Weaver:
Rapid Cart, a non PHP, MySQL shopping cart! Currently it is only working with Pay Pal but the developer are going to be adding more services. It is currently up to version 1.07.

Weaver FM
A great Ajax Mollify file sharing plugin! Only one drawback is it does play well with I.E. 6 (okay what does) browsers, hey people upgrade all ready!

iSkySoft products as a rip off!

Okay if you are looking for video conversion software to windows or Mac don't buy ANYTHING From ISkySoft! They have lousy support, the web site says you can get a refund within 30 days of purchase this is a flat out lie! They send you to their refund policy that contradicts that statement! Basically they are ripping everyone off! DON"T EVEN VISIT THEIR SITE! There customer support is the worst, they cut and paste the same responses over and over! They clam they can handle DRM files (under Windows version) and convert them. Nope! lies and MORE Lies...

I was under the impression that this application could convert movies purchased via iTunes into DVD's, it does not work. That is why I purchased the product. Since it can't do what I need it too do please refund my purchase.

Then if that is your stance, fine but you won't like what I will be blogging about your products.. your site is not clear.. I have several of your other products that I am removing as well. Thanks for nothing... iSkysoft your stuff is CRAP! I spent over 100.00 on your junk, and currently testing your beta software for MAC. Not any longer.. Good luck you will never get another piece of business...

Generally , If the video is purchased from iTunes , they will be strictly protected with DRM , which is designed to prevent the video from being re-edited . And our program could not deal with them due to the strict DRM protection .
Also , our website has stated clearly that the video with DRM protection is not supported . please have a look at our website . Thank you !
And here is our refund policy, http://www.moviesmac.com/support/refund-policy.html. Please have a look at it. may I ask have you tried the free trial before purchasing ? if so , you will find that the videos purchased from iTunes are not supported . And I am afraid that the request for refund is really difficult to be passed . Sorry about that !

Well Franken Mac is back..

Well I did it, backup most of my data, then inserted my MAC OS X 10.5 DVD booted it up and did a erase and install on the entire OS! That took like 40 minutes. Then the restoration began copying my files back went without an issue! I am totally back (Okay I have to reinstall Final Cut Pro 2, which is what I think was my issue). Man my MacBook Pro seems to be much faster! I love it! I am really digging iLife 09 it has some very cool features! Listening to Deep Purple this morning what a blast from the past..

iLife 09:
iPhoto’s GPS and Faces is very cool stuff
Garage Bands lessons is the greatest idea! I have downloaded and installed all of the free lessons
iMovie 09 fixes the fubar that 08 had! It seems to be a bit faster as well.
iWeb 09 still is a pile of junk (okay I use RapidWeaver for all of my web dev) but for a very beginner it might due, Apple needs to fix mobile me so PHP is supported then iWeb might have a chance to be something only for consumer web sights...

Just my first impressions of iLife 09! Going out to get iWork upgrade shortly..

I am using MacJournal to update my blogs man what a slick bit of kit...

Okay I have just finished up installing MS Office:mac 2008 Special Media Edition for Digital Media Enthusiasts on to my Macbook Pro:

Here is my opinion of the installation process.

why build an installer that requires you to shut down all applications for a mac!
2. why the heck do we still have to download and install each update at a time?
why does Expression Media take so bloody long to import 2.5K worth of pictures?
It took 30 minutes I would hate to have had 100K worth of pictures it would have taken days!
Okay end of complaining....

Okay the interface changes:

Why the crap did the package Messenger 6? it sucks. 7 is not much better.
Can’t run Apple Script or Automator workflows from the Office script menu (BOO HISS)
Still has lots of know issues with Leopard (MORE BOOING AND HISSING)..
I still like Pages, Keynote, and Numbers better...

Just my 2 cents worth...

Well I have been on calls since 5:30 am today.

But have a couple of very happy customers today! Hurray!

OK, I love my new paint sprayer (Graco X7) it has provided me great service and it is very easy to use. very easy to clean!

What I am not happy about is my HP 3600n, I just spent 140.00 for a yellow cartridge that lasted less than 150 pages! First the printer did not recognize it, had to inserted 4 times! That is the last time I buy genuine HP cartridges!

Sometime OEM is better!

I am doing live customer demos today. Hurray! That is done! got one coat of white trim paint on the front door!

What's New this Saturday

Well it was a good day today, I removed old front door on the house and installed a fiberglass door, on the house.

It took about 3 hours to complete. It looks sharp, now for it to warm up enough to paint it blue! I need to go get some new inside trim to match the rest of the house.

In the afternoon we went too the new 007 movie with the kids (Jason, Cam, Nikki, Zach and Sue) it was a pretty good one I guess.. Note too self don’t show up 10 minutes before the movie because you get bad seats..

After the movies we all went to B&N book shopping then to Grand China for dinner tasty!

More later.. I have to get ready for a demo for work.. Fun fun fun.

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks. With my trips to Arizona for work. Nikole has graduated from High School (Oh Yeah!), we had Glenn Junior, Adam, Mindy, Brayton, RE and Weston here for the past few days. It has been wonderful too have them all here visiting. The Kids have all grown so much!

Check out the above link! It show the slick new features of release 4.0 of my favorite web design tool for MAC! Most RW users are dying to get their hands on the new version! I have applied for the beta so maybe I will be picked! Then I will have more to say AFTER I GET TO PLAY WITH IT! Oh yes it is for Leopard users only!

iPod Touch

Well it has been a week or two since I have posted.
First I have updated the Family web site. We have also changed servers at Little Oak Hosting so we have had to redo a few things.

Second I have un-jailbroken my iPod Touch back to 1.1.4 firmware. I am working with the new iPhone SDK to create my own code for my touch. It is all based upon Xcode so it is not that bad to learn.

We got rid of the 1992 Ford Tararus since the transmission was slipping. Now looking for a another car for Nikki and Zach to drive. We got a 37 inch LCD panel TV in our bedroom, it is pretty cool. Working on a few large projects at work that look like they are going to close this year. Jason and Cam are talking about moving out of the house into their own place (roommates), so that will be cool.

Jailbreaking my iPod

Okay this is not for the weak of heart! It took about 3 hours to do. But now I can have all kinds cool stuff games, fancy themes, BossPrefs, Books and Book of Mormon on my iPod touch!

The biggest deal was down grading my firmware! after that everything went great! firmware 1.1.1 (where I started) jailbreak, 1.1.2 add BSD, then the official (mac dev team) jailbreak of 1.1.3!

I have add a couple of things like FTP, SSH so I can use my iPod as a get little internet device!

Thomas S. Monson Named 16th Church President

SALT LAKE CITY 4 February 2008 Thomas S. Monson is the new president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it was announced today at a news conference in the Church Office Building. President Monson, 80, succeeds President Gordon B. Hinckley, who died 27 January.

The new world leader of the Church has called to serve with him in the First Presidency, the top governing body of the 13-million-member faith, President Henry B. Eyring, 74, first counselor, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, 67, second counselor.

President Boyd K. Packer, 83, is the new president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The vacancy in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will be filled later.
